You have horribly misunderstood my article.

First, I stated so to provide a general context as to why the haircut was introduced. Nowhere in the article did I state that the corruption problem was gone with the new haircut.

Second, I come from a country with a rich cultural history of Buddhism. There are many sects of Buddhism and many East Asian Buddhist monks shave their heads to symbolize cutting ties with the secular world.

Finally, of course, there were Catholic sects all over. However, many cuts like the Irish tonsure slowly disappeared as anything other than the tonsure depicted in my article was deemed as a heretic.
