How the Brits ruined their appetite
Britain is a country that is known for many great feats. Over 50 countries under its commonwealth, culturally dominant as their language is spoken around the world, many great films, literature, and their national sport is the most popular sport in the world. Despite these achievements, the Brits are known to be seriously bad at cooking. Their food is infamous for tasting bland and plain, especially compared to their European neighbors.
Why does British food taste so bad?
The Climate
The British weather is famous for being gloomy, rainy, unpredictable, and overall cold, hindering the development of agriculture. For this reason, in comparison to other European regions, the British isles adopted agriculture 1,000–2,000 years later, in 3,500–5,000 BC. The British Isles also lack sun exposure compared to other European neighbors. The harsh British climate made it difficult for many spices to grow, resulting in bland and flavorless foods.
