How did Hitler and the Nazi party win the election of 1932?

ItIt was the federal election of 1932, where Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist Party, also known as the Nazi Party, won 37.3% of seats in the German parliament, becoming the largest party by seat count in the nation. The fact that a political party with such extreme ideological goals as the Nazis can win a federal election begs the question: “how did they do it?”. One of the big factors was the way the Nazis campaigned for their big election.

When 20,000 and more people gathered in Berlin to listen to Hitler speak on October 10, 1930, one strange thing about the crowd was that it was comprised of Germans of diverse backgrounds, unlike the supporters of other major German political parties. It was very unusual to see that the crowd’s age range or class was not confined to one group. In the election four days later, Hitler and the Nazi Party won 18.3% of the votes to become the second-largest political party by seat count, which was an astronomical growth from two years ago at 2.6%. The Nazis could achieve this due to their campaigning strategies.

One of the biggest advantages that played out for the Nazis was the Great Depression, which hit the world in 1929, following the stock market crash in New York. The Great Depression hit Germany…
